Usain Bolt Has confirmed he will attempt an unprecedented three-peat of his Olympic sprint clean sweep.

Bolt has ended speculation that he may try his hand at either the long jump or the 400 metres in Rio. Bolt’s announcement will once again put him head to head against his countryman and friend Yohann Blake, who impressively beat Bolt in the Jamaican trials for London 2012. Unfortunately for Blake he couldn’t repeat the feat at London as Bolt became the first men to defend Olympic titles in both the 100 metres and 200 metres while also sprinting to glory with Blake as part of Jamaica’s victorious 4x100m relay team.

With the Olympics still nearly four years away, Bolt and Blake’s next major international showdown looks set to comes at next year’s World Championships in Moscow where the old master will once again look to put the apprentice in his place.
