Henry Shefflin has made a return to hurling with his club Ballyhale Shamrocks.
Ballyhale defeated Dunnamaggin in a Kilkenny senior league game on a score line of 5-18 to 2-8. Shefflin came on as a substitute to play the last seventeen minutes of the game and scored two points.
The eight time All-Ireland winner has been side-lined with a shoulder injury and will be a welcome addition to the Kilkenny squad. Brian Cody’s team currently has Richie Power, Noel Hickey, Michael Rice, Aidan Fogarty and Michael Fennelly all injured.
Kilkenny are due to play a Leinster semi-final on the 23rd of June with their opponents being either Dublin, Laois or Carlow. There will be another chance for Shefflin to gain match fitness next weekend when Ballyhale play St.Martins next Friday night in the senior league.
