Live score commentary from Meath vs Wicklow in the Leinster SFC 1st Round, Dr. Cullen Park 3:30pm

All things being equal, one would expect this to be a straight-forward victory for Meath in Carlow this Sunday. But after a tumultuous period in the last few months, Wicklow may be able to spring a surprise.
Things began brightly for Seamus McEnaney’s men in the Allianz National League before losing five games on the trot and were relegated from Division 3. To make matters worse, there then followed a disastrous attempt to remove McEnaney from his position as manager which backfired.
Harry Murphy’s men, however, enjoyed promotion from Division 4 in the League and the men from the Garden County showed that confidence is high after a great display against Fermanagh in the Division 4 final.
Joe Sheridan is back from Boston for Banty and the team will be hoping that adding Trevor Giles and John Evans to the coaching team may prove the right call.
Wicklow will be looking to their stellar full-forward trio of Tony Hannon, Seanie Furlong and John McGrath to provide the fire-power with a Trojan effort needed from John Flynn in goal to keep the Royals at bay.

Meath – D Gallagher, M Burke, K Reilly, S McAnarney, D Tobin, B Menton, S Kenny, C Gillespie, B Meade, A Forde, M Collins, G Reilly, B Farrell, J Sheridan, C Ward.

Wicklow – J Flynn, C Hyland, A McLoughlin, A Byrne, D Healy, M McLoughlin, S Kelly, J Stafford, R Finn, L Glynn, D O’Sullivan, D Hayden, T Hannon, S Furlong, J McGrath.
