Veteran star Tony Browne has been recalled to the Waterford starting 15 for Sunday’s Munster final showdown against Tipperary.
The 39 year old comes in for Richie Foley and will resume his usual place at right half back. Browne made his senior debut for the Deise in the national league back in 1991 and has been a stalwart of the Waterford side for two decades now.
The evergreen hurler won his first Munster medal in 1998 and if Waterford prevail at Pairc Ui Chaoimh he will collect provincial honours for the fifth time in one of the longest and most remarkable inter county careers.
While Michael Ryan has gone for an injection of experience in his defence for the crucial clash, in the forwards Eoin Kelly drops to the bench. His place at wing forward is taken by Pauric Mahony. The only other change to the team that defeated Clare in a dramatic semi final is the return of Noel Connors at corner back in place of Aidan Kearney.
