Waterford manager, Davy Fitzgerald has had his sideline suspension reduced to a month after a successful appeal to the Central Hearings Committee on Friday night.

Fitzgerald looked set for a three-month ban on the Central Competitions Control Committee’s advice, resulting from the recent National Hurling League defeat to Tipperary.

If the original ban had stood it would have kept the Deise boss away from the sideline until the week before his side’s Munster SHC clash with Limerick in June.

However, CHC decided to reduce the charge from its Category 4 status to a Category 2 offence, meaning Fitzgerald must still serve a month’s suspension.
