Cork footballer Colm O’Neill will undergo further tests next week as it is as yet unclear as to the extent of the injury he sustained against Galway on Sunday.

The player had to be substituted with a knee injury after just a quarter of an hour of the Allianz National League game in Salthill.

While O’Neill had scans on Monday, the initial results were unclear and it now seems likely that he will require a second test to determine the damage.

It has been reported that the forward may have damaged his cruciate ligament but this has yet to be confirmed.
