Kilkenny hurlers look to have paid a heavy price for their Allianz National Hurling League win over Waterford on Sunday.
Two of their best players are now doubtful for the next round of the competition.
Star half back Tommy Walsh picked up a shoulder joint injury, while JJ Delaney had to leave the action after injuring his hamstring.
“Yeah, the worry is that we lost Tommy and JJ , neither is a great injury to be getting now,” said manager Brian Cody.
“Today’s match is crucial, winning today was always going to keep us very much in the hunt so I think we’re level with Galway now and next Saturday’s game with Dublin is a crucial one.”
