Wexford had three points to spare over Kilkenny in their Leinster Senior camogie championship semi final at Killurin last Sunday, and booked their place in this weekends decider.
Fiona Kavanagh and Evelyn Quigley scored crucial goals in the opening minutes of each half, and in the finish it was just the single three pointer that separated the sides. Kilkenny started the better and led at the break. A goal from Shelly Farrell and points from Claire Phelan, Aoife Neary and Farrell helping the Cats take control.
However, Quigley scored a goal within a minute of the restart and Wexford stepped it up from there. Ursula Jacob and Kate Kelly starred for the home side as they held out to take the victory 2-7 to 1-7. They now meet Offaly in the provincial final this weekend.
