Wexford Park set for double header

The Wexford County Board have been given the go ahead to host a football and hurling championship double-header at Wexford Park on Saturday week, June 11.

The Model County’s footballers have home advantage against Westmeath in the Leinster Senior Football Championship quarter-final, while the hurlers have a semi-final clash against Kilkenny in the hurling championship.

The football game had been fixed for Sunday week, with the hurling match to go ahead the previous evening, but the Leinster Council have agreed to bring forward the football quarter-final to make it a double header.

Fixtures for Saturday, June 11:

Leinster SFC quarter-final
Wexford v Westmeath, Wexford Park, 5pm

Leinster SHC semi-final
Wexford v Kilkenny, Wexford Park, 7pm
