Cork name Cusack as captain

Cork goal keeper Donal Og Cusask has been named as the Cork Senior Hurling captain for the 2012 campaign.

New manager Jimmy Barry Murphy announced his decision to the players on Saturday with forward Patrick Horgan named as vice captain.

The Cloyne club man has won 3 All Irelands, 5 Munster titles not to mention two All star during his time with Cork and is also chairman of the GPA

Announcing the appointment, Barry-Murphy said: Shane O’Neill has stepped down as he suffered a number of injuries over the past twelve months and now wishes to concentrate on his own game.

“As a result, the management made the decision to appoint Donal Óg as captain, with Patrick Horgan vice-captain.”
