Kerry star Bryan Sheehan believes a month could be cut from the inter-county season.
The four-time All-Ireland winning Kerry star, who featured for his club, St Mary’s, on Christmas Eve, sees no reason why more matches couldn’t be played in a shorter space of time during the summer.
Speaking to the Sun newspaper, the midfielder said “I think I heard someone say recently that there are about twelve training sessions taking place for every inter-county game you play. That’s wrong.
“There has to be something done about it. I would be in favour of trying to have the All-Ireland finished off by the end of August.
“I don’t see why it can’t be structured in a way that teams are out every two or three weeks. There are more training sessions than games at the moment and that’s not right.”
