The Down forward was named in the starting fifteen earlier in the week however a recurring knee and hamstring problems have now ruled him out of the clash.

Derry’s Conleith Gilligan, Antrim’s Tomas McCann and Monaghan’s Kieran Hughes are the favourites to replace Danny Hughes.

Ulster were already without Stephen O’Neill, Michael Murphy, Paddy Bradley and Jamie Clarke for the game while Monaghan star Paul Finlay is also doubt following the death of his father Kieran on Tuesday.
