Antrim host Dublin at Casement Park on Sunday at 2pm, in Division 1B of the Allianz National Hurling League. The two sides enjoyed mixed fortune in the first round.
The visitors were Division 1A winners two seasons back, but injury destroyed their 2012 campaign and they were relegated after a playoff defeat to Waterford. Antrim have played in the second tier for most of the past decade, but on their day they are capable of a shock.
Form
Dublin made a winning start to life in this division with a one point win over Offaly last time out. It was a slight surprise that the men from the capital made such hard work of beating their opponents. With a win to their name, Anthony Daly will be hoping that his side make plenty of progress for Sunday’s clash. Antrim lost to Limerick in the first round, but they had to travel South, and only lost by a single goal. Life will get easier from now on, and a big showing here will boost confidence for the future.
Team News
Benny McCarry comes in for Antrim, while Dublin welcome back David O’Callaghan to their ranks, having missed the win over Offaly.
Players To Watch
Liam Rushe is playing really well for Dublin this season and his positioning at centre half back is an interesting experiment. Benny McCarry impressed for Loughgiel Shamrocks in the club championship and gets his chance here.
