The recent problems for newly appointed Kerry football boss Eamonn Fitzmaurice have been further compounded, with the news that Colm Cooper will miss the next two national league matches.

“The Gooch” has yet to feature for Kerry this season, as his club commitments have meant he was unavailable for the Division One defeats to both Mayo and Dublin. Now Fitzmaurice has confirmed that the former All Star will also be absent for the difficult trips to Kildare and Donegal.
Cooper has picked up a few knocks during Dr Crokes’ All-Ireland club campaign, and needs a few weeks to recover from those.

After confirming that Cooper is nursing an ankle injury and “another couple of bits and pieces”, Fitzmaurice says he’s “giving him a chance to recuperate”. Kingdom fans will be hoping that the Dr Crokes man gets back to full fitness fairly quickly, as the side have a difficult March and April coming up, if they are to retain their top flight status.
