Donegal football manager Jim McGuinness has called on employers throughout the county to offer their support, by giving work to five unemployed members of his panel.

McGunness was speaking at a civic reception hosted by Donegal County Council over the weekend. At the meeting he revealed that Eamonn McGee, Ryan Bradley, Leo McLoone, Paddy McGrath and Anthony Thompson were all out of work at the present time and may have to look for employment further afield if nothing turns up in the near future.

“I would ask anyone here, if it is at all possible, to get these solid men some reliable employment … it would benefit our team,” McGuinness is reported as saying in today’s Irish Daily Star.

The team were presented with cufflinks and special scrolls to mark the occasion and Mayor of Donegal Frank McBrearty said: “They have inspired a new generation.”
