Eight players added to Galway hurling panel for 2013

Following on from the news that Shane Kavanagh and Aonghus Callanan have been recalled to the Galway Senior Hurling Panel, a number of other players have also been added to the extended Panel for 2013.

Former Galway captain Kavanagh was just one of several senior players to be unceremoniously culled by new manager Anthony Cunningham this time last year who aimed to integrate 2011′s successful All-Ireland winning U-21 team and the Kinvara full-back was deemed surplus to requirements

Among the additions to the squad are goalkeeper Colm Callanan of Kinvara, 2011 U-21 defenders Rory Foy of Ballindereen and Ronan Burke of Turloughmore, forward Emmet Ward of Pearses, Gort’s Sylvie Og Linnane and 2012 Minor Jason Flynn of Tommie Larkins.

Goalkeeper James Skehill remains sidelined following surgery and will miss most of the national hurling league. Last year’s Leinster champions just back from  holidays in Dubai where they were joined by the All Ireland Football Champions Donegal.
