Peter Canavan is the latest high profile GAA figure to speak out against the organisations new ruling that bans doctors from the sideline.
The controversial new ruling has already come under intense fire and Fermanagh manager Canavan is the latest to point out how ridiculous the situation is:
“I would prefer to watch from afar but there are men who need to be on the sideline who are not, for example our team doctor,” he told The Irish Daily Mirror.
“There’s a big bench and a big dug-out down there and they’re empty. What harm a doctor could do down there is beyond me.
“I’m disappointed with that aspect because if someone gets seriously hurt, you want someone there right away rather than waiting on gates to be opened.”
