Form
Mary Immaculate College’s dream run in the 2013 Irish Daily Mail Fitzgibbon Cup continued when they upset the odds to beat WIT in a cracking semi-final with a score line of 1-17 to 1-15. They made history with that dramatic two point victory as this is their first ever Fitzgibbon Cup final and spirits are bound to be high in the Mary I camp.
UCC bet UCD impressively by 1-20 to 0-14. The sides were level at half time and the Leesiders showed real strength and determination to power ahead in the second half to seal a place in the decider for the second year running.
Team News
Declan Hannon will be missing for Mary I due to the red card he received in the semi-final victory. Mary I are also without Galway star Conor Cooney as he has withdrawn from the cup due to commitments with St. Thomas.
UCC have no major concerns as they look to win the competition for the second year running.
Players to Watch
John Conlon scored an impressive 1-9 in the Limerick College’s semi final decider. Mary I will need there free taker to be on top form if they are going to overturn the reigning champions.
Conor Lehane was a presence on the final in the victory over UCD. UCC’s top man scored six points, four of them frees. If UCC are to lift the cup Lehane will need to be on top form.
Betting Advice
UCC look like they will be tough to beat in the final at a price of 8/15 Perhaps the best value bet is UCC -2 handicap victory at 10/11
