The group stage of the 2013 Irish Daily Mail Fitzgibbon Cup concludes this afternoon, with five matches down for decision. The quarter final make up is still not clear, and a number of teams will face an anxious wait before learning their fate.
LIT play DCU in Limerick at 1pm, and the home side should be good enough to win this tie. Victory would see them progress as runners up from this group.
GMIT host Mary Immaculate at 3pm, with a win or a draw being enough for the visitors to go through. They should be good enough to take the points, and book their passage to the next stage of the competition.
Also at 3pm, UCC and NUI Galway meet in the Mardyke, with a win for the former being good enough to send them through as group winners. They look up to that task and are expected to make the last eight.
The late game at 7.30pm sees WIT and CIT is solely to decide who finishes first and second in Group B. Both colleges have already qualified for the quarter finals so there is less at stake. CIT are marginally preferred and are given the verdict to win the tie.
