Galway outgun Sligo in Tuam

Galway had an easy 4-9 to 0-12 win over Sligo at Tuam Stadium in their FBD Insurance Connacht League game.

The home side, with Nicky Joyce making his first appearance for 16 months, got off to a flying start when Joyce stunned the visitors with a fine goal with but 30 seconds on the clock.

Michael Martin added a second Galway goal after 19 minutes with a great left footed shot into the top corner of the net . The Tribesmen led 2-3 to 0-4 lead at that point with Sligo’s Adrian Marren having accounted for two of his sides point.

Another Michael Martin goal on 26 minutes all but ended this match as a serious contest , though Sligo gave of their all in the second half with Marren in fine form, before young Mark Hehir scored a fourth Galway goal.
