Kenmare Shamrocks (Kerry) and Ballinasloe (Galway), meet in the AIB GAA Football All-Ireland Junior Club Championship Final , in Croke Park at 2pm on Sunday.
While Sunday’s decider is two weeks later than initially scheduled due to replays, the third tier club showpiece is now the curtain-raiser for the M. Donnelly Interprovincial final.
Kenmare finally booked their ticket to the final after a 1-17 to 1-12 victory over Castleknock in the second replay after 220 minutes of football. Having beaten Kilmacthomas of Waterford, Rockchapel of Cork and Cappamore of Limerick, the Kerry side would have expected a more straightforward last four clash. Ballinasloe scored 9-34 in three Connacht championship games without conceding a single goal. In the All Ireland semi-final they beat Armagh’s An Port Mór by 2-7 to 1-10.
Players To Watch
Kerry senior player, Paul O’Connor is the star of the Kenmare side. He scored 1-08 in the semi final and has been a threat to opposing defences all season. Ballinasloe captain Keith Kelly is the man to keep an eye on in their side.
Kenmare are 4/9 to win the match, but minus two points at 10/11 looks a task that they are capable of achieving.
