Leinster rivals Laois and Louth meet in Portlaoise at 7.00 this Saturday evening, in Division Two of the Allianz National Football League. The visitors are the form team coming into game, having been successful last time.
These two counties are strong enough to make the playoffs this season, with Laois particularly keen to make a quick return to the top flight following last years relegation. Louth have a slight advantage this weekend, having beaten Galway in a rescheduled match last weekend, while the O’Moore County have been out of action since the beginning of the month.
Form
As already stated, Louth come into the tie on the back of a win over Galway last weekend. Laois began the campaign with an impressive defeat of Armagh, but then went down to Derry in their next match. They will be hoping for much better luck on Saturday night and home advantage is sure to play a part. The game also sees former Armagh team-mates Justin McNulty and Aidan O’Rourke, do battle as managers for the first time. With Kieran McGeeney currently in charge of Kildare, the Leinster Championship will have a real Armagh feel to it this season.
Team News
Denis Booth, Mark Timmons and Colm Coss have been added to the Laois team, while Louth make one change, with Brian Donnelly coming in for Mark Brennan.
Players To Watch
Padraig Clancy at full forward for Laois and his Louth counterpart Shane Lennon, are two players that should be watched on Saturday night. Both men are well capable of winning their own ball, and converting chances that come their way.
Betting Advice
Laois are the better side and at 4/7 they are selected to make it two wins from three in Division Two this season.
