The Limeick college were tipped up by many, as the potential surprise package of this seasons competition, and they haven’t disappointed. With real prospects of going all the way, the teacher training college will have plenty of support over the weekend.

Form
Mary Immaculate beat DIT in the quarter finals to book their ticket to finals weekend. A 1-18 to 0-15 success was enough to see them over the finishing line on that occasion. WIT enjoyed a 0-21 to 1-14 win over Limerick IT in the last eight, and will be hoping to take the scalp of another college from the Treaty county on Friday.

The Waterford side will go into the semi final as favourites, but many have already learned that it is unwise to underestimate the teachers.

Team News
Conor Cooney is crucial to the Mary Immaculate chances and a late decision on his participation will be awaited with interest. Despite his possible absence, the side can call on players such as John Conlon and Declan Hannon. I have a strong side from which to pick from, with chief scorers Harry Kehoe and Gavin O’Brien both available to selectors.

Players To Watch
Senior star Conor Cooney is the main target man on the Mary I team and supporters will be hoping that he can take his place at finals weekend. On the WIT team, Noel Connors has plenty of experience playing with Waterford, and he will lead his sides defence.

Betting Advice:
WIT are marginally preferred, despite the fact that their opponents have been the dark horses since the outset of this season’s competition. At 5/6 they are given the verdict to reach Saturday’s final.
