AIB Munster GAA Hurling Championship Semi-Final: Thurles Sarsfields (Tipperary) v Sarsfields (Cork), Semple Stadium, Thurles, 2pm

Tipperary kingpin’s Thurles Sarsfileds has 32 county titles to their name but amazingly have never won a Munster Club hurling championship. Although the majority of their titles came before the introduction of the provincial championship, it still seems absurd.

The Tipp side hope to overcome this anomaly when they take on Cork champions Sarsfields at Semple Stadium today in the Munster semi-final.

Thurles’ campaign in Munster got off to a great start a fortnight ago when they defeated Limerick champions Kilmallock in the quarter-final, but they face another big challenge in Sarsfields this Sunday in Semple Stadium.

Cork’s Sarsfields record in Munster is poor by comparison to Thurles’ and, with the Tipp side having home advantage for this tie, Thurle’s advancement to the county final looks imminent.

Verdict: Thulres Sarsfields
