Tipperary manager Declan Ryan has left the door open for Lar Corbett to return to the panel after the talented forward surprisingly announced his retirement on Monday.
Ryan admitted he was shocked to hear about Corbett’s decision but would welcome the 2010 Hurler of the Year back into the squad.
Corbett made his Championship debut for Tipperary as a 19-year-old in 2001 and scored 26-67 over the course of his All-Ireland career.
Arguably Corbett’s best moment came in the 2010 All-Ireland final when the forward scored 3-3 in a winning effort over Kilkenny, which denied the Cats their fifth consecutive title.
The 30-year-old also scored 4-4 against Waterford in last year’s Championship.
