Tyrone’s Sean O’Neill has been suspended for 12 weeks by the GAA’s Higher Education body.

O’Neill was allegedly involved in incidents at the end of the Sigerson Cup match between St. Mary’s Belfast and NUIG.

St. Mary’s lost by a point, but players believed the referee ended the game 30 seconds early and voiced their frustrations.

O’Neill played in all of Tyrone’s matches during their victorious McKenna Cup run and played for Mickey Harte’s side against Kildare in the league opener at the weekend. The player will now miss the remainder of the Allianz League, however.
