Tipperary v Kilkenny: Preview, Team News & Live score commentary

Updated: March 10, 2013
Tipperary and Kilkenny meet in Semple Stadium this Sunday at 2pm, in the biggest game of round two of the Allianz National Hurling League.
Despite being possibly the two best teams in the country at the moment, both counties lost out on the opening weekend of the 2013 campaign. With pride at stake and the need for some points, this has the potential to be a cracker.
Form
Kilkenny were beaten by Galway last time out, but Brian Cody will have been reasonably happy with his side’s performance on the day. There were plenty of positives and the Cats always blood a few players at this time of the year. However, a twelve point defeat to Cork will certainly concern new Tipperary boss Eamon O’Shea as he attempts to gather his troops for a battle with the All Ireland champions.
Team News
Tipperary have certainly made changes for this clash, with Michael Cahill, Conor O’Mahony, Adrian Ryan, Lar Corbett, John O’Brien, Eoin Kelly and Pa Bourke all recalled. Kilkenny welcome back David Herity and Brian Hogan.
Players To Watch
Former Hurler of the Year Lar Corbett is back in a Tipperary jersey for this game and his form will be followed by a number of interested spectators. Brian Hogan will be keen to impress Kilkenny boss Brian Cody.
