Tommy Carr calls for Jim Gavin to be next Dublin football manager

Updated: September 6, 2012

Following Pat Gilroy’s Dublin exit last night, former Dubs boss Tommy Carr has called on the Dublin County Board to give Under 21 manager Jim Gavin the senior reins.

Carr was speaking to Adrian Barry on 98FM this morning and he reflected on Gilroy’s four years, weighs-up the case for both the main candidates Jim Gavin and Dessie Farrell and wonders if Dessie’s GPA role might not be a conflict of interest.

Carr played alongside, managed and worked with Gavin, Farrell was his captain during his time as Dublin manager.
