With only a couple of hours until the USPGA Tour gets underway, the excitement is continuing to build at the Oak Hill Golf Club, New York.
Of course, the main title contenders aren’t scheduled to be in action until much later in the day.
Today is a real chance for the big-guns to prove themselves on the big stage after each of the three Masters to date this year were claimed by three different golfers.
World no.1 Tiger Woods is set to tee-off after lunchtime at 13:35 alongside Keegan Bradley and Davis Love III.
Following his emphatic victory at the Bridgestone Invitational on Sunday, the 37-year-old is now the clear favourite to claim victory again this weekend.
And what’s more is that Woods will have the added incentive of attempting to win his 15th major title.
Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy gets his tournament challenge off to a start at 18:25. The Holywood man has had quite a tumultuous year so far and doesn’t look to be in the best shape following a poor performance at the the British Open which saw him fail to make the cut.
Also in the mix is Phil Mickelson, who will be teeing off at 18:45. The British Open champion may not be the out and out favourite, but it truly is difficult to look past him following what’s been a good year of golf for the 43-year-old.
Another Major champion, Justin Rose is teeing off at 18:45 and he’ll be keen to add to his win at the U.S Open from back in June.
Also among the late starters is Paul McGinley and Darren Clarke who tee-off together alongside Tom Watson at 17:35.
