Rowing Ireland has selected a team of six to compete at the up-coming European Championships in Belgrade, Serbia from 29 May to 1 June.
Despite the flooding problems through Serbia and Bosnia, the Ada Ciganlija regatta venue on Sava Lake has not been affected according to rowing governing body Fisa.
The six athletes who will represent Ireland in Belgrade each won medals at the recent Memorial Paolo d’Ajola International Regatta in Piedilluco, Italy last month.
Women’s pair Leonora Kennedy and Lisa Dileen won two golds, while Ireland’s sole 2012 Olympic Games representative Sanita Puspure won two silvers in the single sculls.
Paul O’Donovan took the bronze in the mens’ lightweight single sculls and there were bronze medals too for Monika Dukarska and Eimear Moran in the women’s double sculls.
