Scotland’s Richie Ramsay leads the Andalucía Masters of two rounds but the Irish contingent are still in the hunt.

Ramsay, who is looking for his first win of the season leads the field by two shots and leads Gregory Harvet. The Scot began his round with two bogeys but fought back well to shoot a one over par 72, to leave him two shots clear of Harvet. Sergio Garcia’s recent form sees him in the hunt for his second successive European Tour crown as he is just three behind Ramsay.

Peter Lawrie and Shane Lowry are both in good positions heading into the weekend as they are tied for 6th at 1 over par. Things didn’t go to plan for Damien McGrane as he missed the cut on 9+ while Graeme McDowell continues to find the going tough in the heat of Spain.

The man from Northern Ireland had a two over par 73 to go with his 73 from Thursday and lies in 23rd position. He will be hoping to improve on that over the weekend.
