Roddick knows the way to San Jose

Updated: February 2, 2012

Andy Roddick remains on track to return at the SAP Open in San Jose in two weeks, even though he says he hasn’t hit a tennis ball since hurting his right hamstring in the second round of the Australian Open.

Roddick said on a conference call on Thursday that an exam showed a partial tear in the tendon and he has been busy with different types of treatment trying to heal up.

The American, who turns 30 in August, says his injury remains a concern. He says he hopes to hit balls for the first time on Monday. His first match in San Jose is scheduled for Feb. 15, and Roddick says that should be plenty of time for him to be ready if all goes well.
