India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni ran for three on the last ball to force a tie with Sri Lanka in a Tri-series thriller on Tuesday.
Dhoni, needing four from the last ball from Lasith Malinga to surpass Sri Lanka’s total of 236-9, slashed over cover but couldn’t quite get it to the boundary and India also finished at 236-9.
Dhoni was unbeaten on 58, just failing to repeat his match-winning, last-over finish against Australia on the weekend.
It was the first tie between India and Sri Lanka in a limited-overs international.
The tie gave India the lead in the tri-series.
