Darren Clarke has hired Paul Morbey as his new caddie as he looks to stop his recent run of bad form.

Clarke claimed his first major last summer when he won the Open Championship at Sandwich, but he has failed to finish in the top-10 at any event since that victory.

The Ulsterman parted company with former caddie John Mulrooney after he missed the cut at Abu Dhabi.

Morbey and Clarke will work together on a temporary basis starting with the Accenture Match Play Championship next week.

Morbey, who enjoyed great success with Ian Woosnam, said: “Darren and I go back a long way so I’ve known him for ages and I’m looking forward to the three-week spell.”
