Ferrari will not rush into any decisions regarding appointing a new driver to partner Fernando Alonso for the 2014 season.

With Felipe Massa’s contract with Ferrari running out at the end of the season, Formula One’s most famous car will make a decision on the Brazilians future soon.

Massa has not had the best year driving, and has been prone to mistakes, and although he has the support of the team, Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo will not consider the future until later in the year.

“Felipe is fully aware he can count on our total confidence in him,” Montezemolo said.

“I hope he will soon secure the results that will show his talent to the full, such as the great starts he pulled off at the last two Grands Prix. The future? We will talk about that further down the line as there’s no hurry.”
