The post has already racked up over two million likes online.

Rumblings of a Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor matchup have gone somewhat quiet of late, despite both parties confirming earlier this year that they would be more than willing to face off with the right terms in place.

While most of us have more or less given up on the idea of seeing the pair go head to head, it seems that ‘Money’ Mayweather may not be ready to throw in the towel just yet.

Taking to social media platform Instagram this morning, the American decided that it was time to reignite the feud between himself and Mcgregor, posting a screenshot of the Irishman laying bloodied and beaten on the canvas, following his loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 196.

The caption to go along with the photo reads ‘CAPTION THIS!’, with the 49-0 boxing legend even offering a $10,000 cash prize to whoever comes up with the most fitting title.

CAPTION THIS! Best caption wins $10,000.00. The winner will be announced on Monday, Dec 19. Stay tuned ! #TMT

Never one to shy away from conflict, we can only assume that Conor McGregor will have a world-class retort at the ready, but Mayweather’s decision to add fuel to the fire of a row which had seemingly died out could suggest that he really is looking for one final huge payday.

Or it could just be Floyd Mayweather being his usual controversial, loud-mouthed, globally-disliked self.

It’s generally hard to tell with him. Either way, we’re looking forward to seeing which avenue McGregor decides to take to undoubtedly ruin the American in his response.
