Tennessee(#23) at Florida(#24)

Its six tips and six winners so far this season so lets hope for another great weekend, Tennessee will head to Gainesville to take on the Florida Gators in a key SEC East matchup.

These two teams are viewed as top contenders to win the East division and a win in this game should hold critical value at the end of the season. Florida will be looking to avenge their 38-28 loss at the hands of the Volunteers in Knoxville last year.

Tennessee is off to a 2-0 start after a thrilling double overtime victory week 1 against Georgia Tech and a blowout win 42-7 over Indiana State last week.  The Vols had some troubles defending the Georgia Tech rushing attack as they gave up 535 yards on the ground.  On offense, Quarterback Quinten Dormady has emerged as the clear starter and has shown vast improvement in moving the ball.  Also, Running Back John Kelly has gained over 300 total yards and scored 4 touchdowns in his first two performances.

Florida is currently 0-1 and was idle last week as their scheduled matchup was postponed due to Hurricane Irma.  In week 1, they lost to Michigan 33-17 with their only touchdowns coming on interception returns.  The Florida defense impressed in the first half, but wore down as the game continued.  The Gators were missing some key suspended players and their offense suffered as they only managed 192 yards including a miniscule 11 rushing.

Prediction and Betting Advice:

Tennessee is a 4.5 point underdog for this road game that may be a low scoring affair due to the Florida defense.  Florida’s leading running back and top receiver remain suspended for this contest.  Combine that with lackluster play at quarterback and the Gators will have a hard time getting much production on offense.  Also, Florida has been out of sorts as they recover from the effects of Hurricane Irma and not had proper time to prepare for this game.  I think this will need to be a low scoring and close game for Florida to win.  So, I like Tennessee with the 4.5 points and would maybe consider a play on them to win straight up.
