Never one to take himself too seriously, Ireland’s two-time Olympic Bronze medallist Paddy Barnes reacted to the recent flare ups around the flying of the Union Flag above city hall in Belfast with his usual cheeky humour.
Posting on twitter, Barnes whose festive preparations must have been interrupted by the flag protests asked, “If I put my dress up on the city hall can I do my Christmas shopping in peace?” with a picture of himself from Halloween dressed in the infamous Ginger Spice Union Jack dress, while flashing peace signs.

The Belfast boxer dressed up as Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell of the Spice Girls for Halloween with a group of friends, including fellow Olympian the fresh-faced Michael Conlon who fittingly opted for Baby Spice.
