Formula 1’s star driver, Sebastian Vettel, has quashed any speculation linking him with a move to Ferrari after extending his contract with Red Bull until the end of 2015.
Currently the dominant force in Formula 1, Vettel currently sits 36 points clear at the top of the standings and looks well on course to deliver his fourth Formula 1 Championship in his glittering career. He’s currently the 4/9 favourite with Boylesports.com.
Since joining Red Bull four years ago Vettel has won 29 races and has been on the podium 39 times.
Red Bull team boss Christian Horner and Ferrari team president Luca di Montezemolo have always denied that Vettel would move to the Italian outfit since the rumours began circulating and can now focus on the battle for the Constructor’s Championship.
It hasn’t been an easy year for the team though, with a very public spat ensuing between Vettel and his team mate, Mark Webber, after he ignored team orders in the Malaysian Grand Prix and overtook the Australian and went on to win. Webber could be now be looking for the exit following today’s announcement.
Although Vettel has commited to Red Bull his future still remains unclear as he has said numerous times that he would finish racing in the next five years should his passion for the sport die out. However, Christian
Horner can sleep a little easier tonight knowing that he has the best driver in the world in his line up for the next two years.
