World number one Rory McIlroy will be one of the best to ever play the game according to his Ryder Cup team mate Sergio Garcia.
“Obviously, he’s a great player, no doubt,” Garcia told the Times of Malta when asked about McIlroy’s latest feat – topping both the European and PGA money lists for 2013.
“He has the whole package and he’s a nice guy, we get on well.
“He hits the ball far and quite straight for the distance. His ground play is good, his chipping and putting is solid. That’s why he’s number one in the world and that’s why he’s won what he’s won.
“He’s going to win many, many more tournaments and definitely he’ll be within the best in history.”
Currently playing in Kong Kong, Rory will line up for the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai on 15 November as the world number one and leader of the Order of Merit list.
McIlroy recently said that he’s looking forward to the winter break and will then return with a focus on next year, when he will be put to the test to see if he can live at the very top of the game for a prolonged period and hold off Tiger Woods.
