Former teenage tennis sensation Jennifer Capriati has been charged with assault, after police said she punched her ex-boyfriend on Valentine’s Day.
Capriati was charged at Palm Beach County court on Wednesday, after being found guilty of hitting the man while he was working out at a local gym. She has been issued with a summons to appear before a judge on April 17 on stalking and battery charges.
According to North Palm Beach police Ivan Brannan was at the gym when Capriati,36, ran in shouting abuse at him. Mr Brannan told police that he tried to get away by walking to the men’s changing room, but Capriati blocked his path and punched him in the chest.
Brannan and Capriati broke up in 2012 but he claims that she has harassed and stalked him since then.
