Boylesports agree sponsorship deal with Thurles

Boylesports has announced that it has agreed a three year deal with Thurles racecourse,which will see the bookmaker sponsor two races at the track on March 1.

The races are the €40,000 Michael Purcell Memorial Novice Hurdle, a Grade 2 event over 2m4f, and the €23,000 Bet on your Mobile with Steeplechase, formerly the Cashel Steepelchase, over 2m2f for horses aged five and upwards who are rated 145 or less.

Announcing the sponsorship Nicola McGeady, PR spokesperson for Boylesports, said on Tuesday: “We are thrilled with this new deal with Thurles which not only enhances our horse racing portfolio but, more importantly, cements our commitment to Irish racing.”

Pierce Molony, owner and manager of Thurles racecourse, said: “We are delighted to welcome Boylesports as a new sponsor at our March 1 meeting and we look forward to working with them over the next three years to make the meeting a big success.”

Boylesports already sponsor the Hurdle, the main event on the Saturday of Leopardstown’s January Jumps weekend, and the Tied Cottage, at Punchestown.
