Irish jockey Cathy Gannon is hopeful of returning to competitive action within the next couple of months. The Dublin girl continues to recover from a broken leg.
Gannon suffered a fractured right femur when she was thrown from a horse before the start of a race at Nottingham last October. At the time she was enjoying a real purple patch and her career had really taken off.
Having received confirmation that she can start riding work in February, Gannon expects to be back in action not too long afterwards.
“I’m coming along great and I was really happy when the specialist said I could ride out in a couple of weeks,” she said.
“Hopefully I’ll be riding by March.”
