Cheltenham Racing set to go ahead

Racing set to go ahead, but it looks like the Cross Country race will be run at 5:45pm

Snow getting worse here in Cheltenham, bitterly cold and freezing, very difficult to see 100% of the course being fit for racing. But the betting is still 1/4 that it goes ahead.

Racegoes in Ireland and Uk woke up this morning to the bad news that the Cheltenham course is frozen after a wind chill of -12 overnight.

Simon Claisse, Head of Racing, South West Region & Cheltenham’s Clerk of the Course has called an inspection at 10.30am.

He remains confident that racing will go ahead as only 5% of the course is frozen.
