This year’s Coronation Cup will be run on Derby day as part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. The premier all aged mile and a half race had previously been a stand alone highlight.

The race will be renamed the Diamond Jubilee Coronation Cup (Sponsored by Investec) and The Queen will attend on the day.

Saturday will also feature the £1.25 million Investec Derby and the fastest five furlong race in the world, the Investec ‘Dash’.

Rupert Trevelyan, Managing Director of Epsom Downs Racecourse said: “We are delighted to announce the name change and movement of the Coronation Cup to Investec Derby Day, in recognition of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee year.

“We are proud to acknowledge the longevity of support and enthusiasm Her Majesty has demonstrated to Epsom over the last sixty years and look forward to a spectacular day in June for the whole nation to enjoy.”

Grandstand tickets are on sale for the Investec Derby Festival from £45 if purchased prior to the 1st May 2012. To book your Investec Derby Festival tickets please visit the website or call 0844 579 3004.
