There will be no racing in Ireland this Saturday, after the meeting scheduled for Gowran Park, was cancelled due to a waterlogged track. An inspection had been due to take place later on Friday.
However, officials moved forward the 8am inspection as the situation became untenable overnight. With heavy rain falling throughout the night, and expected to continue for the rest of the day, track officials had no option but to make the decision to abandon the meeting.
At the moment no decision has been made as to whether this fixture will be refixed for another date. Downpatrick and the Curragh are both due to race on Sunday, but again, the weather looks set to play a big part in whether those two meetings proceed or not.
