Although many punters will be focused on the upcoming Cheltenham Festival, the Grade Three Naas Directors Plate Novice Chase ensures there’s still some quality fare on the Naas card. Racing commences at 2:10.

The meeting gets under way at 2.10 with the Listed Kingsfurze Novice Hurdle, where Moscow Mannon bids to rebuild his reputation after finishing behind Annie Power here last time after a belated reappearance. This will be is no easy task as Zuzka has showed abundant talent for Willie Mullins this term. Rory O’Moore was disappointing last time out but it is very possible he will fill the placings at a large price.

Twinlight comes here on the back of a great season so far. He has continued to go from strength-to-strength since returned to fences this year and followed up his Grade 3 success at Galway in October by landing a Punchestown Grade 2 the following month. Dedigout though is highly thought of and there is more to come. He has finished second in the Drinmore previously and has showed his effectiveness over this trip. You Must Know Me is very progressive and is also a danger.

The Paparrazi Kid opened his account over this trip at Limerick and has claims on his handicap bow in the Naas Supporters Handicap Hurdle at 3:10. He has plenty of experience and put some decent rivals aside last time out when winning his maiden. Vic Canvas along with Tugboat could be the dangers in this wide open handicap.

Johannisberger clearly had something amiss when pulling up last time. He is frustrating to follow but he can take advantage if today’s drop in trip in the 4:10 race. JP McManus has four winners in this contest and the main danger looks like the Edward O’Grady trained The Way We Were who can still develop in to a nice chaser.

Couleur France gets the verdict in the closing contest. He stayed on well for third over this trip at Roscommon on his debut and should be all the wiser for the experience gained. He is well thought of in the Noel Meade yard and should have the advantage over Aiden O’Brien newcomer, Angel Chorus.
