There is top class racing at Newbury and Doncaster on Saturday, as the countdown to the rapidly approaching Cheltenham Festival intensifies we give you some horses to note today for your Scoop6 Bet.
There is a few to consider in the first leg of the Scoop6 at 2:05 in Newbury. Water Garden heads the list after running a promising race when back from a break in a better race than this over C&D last time. He looks as if he could improve today for the Pipe yard who are in tremendous form as seven of their last fifteen runners have won. Destroyer Deployed who was placed in the Champion Bumper in 2011 has first time blinkers today. He could go close after a run in a “jumper’s bumper” to sharpen him up.
The second leg of the Scoop6 is the 2:40 race at Newbury. Michel Le Bon has not being a straight forward horse to train since his Grade Two win as a novice as he has only made the track six times since. His jumping is a major issue but he will enjoy these conditions and with first time blinkers he is the one to beat. Sona Sasta is an interesting contender from the Pipe yard and is worth a look also.
We got to Doncaster for the third leg of the Scoop6 at 2:55. Calgary Bay must go in too note books as he attempts to make it 3-3 in Doncaster. The ground has been very testing this season for him and he interesting under Tony McCoy. Court By Surprise is an interesting contender but the fact Emma Lavelle has not had a winner in 2013 yet might tell us the yard is not flying. Join Together is an out and out stayer who will love the run of this race. Jumping is no concern since he finished second in Aintree over the National fences when last seen in December.
The fourth leg is in Newbury at 3:15. Tango De Juilley has some useful form behind his name since joining Venetia Williams from France. He disappointed on his reappearance this season but he is sure to come on from that run. John Fergusons’ Cry For freedom ran a good race after a long break last time. We know he has ability as he has good form in both the jumping and flat spheres. Sporting Boy is up in the weights but he was winning in very good style when last seen and can be expected to close again today in the Greatwood Handicap Hurdle.
The fifth leg comes from Doncaster at 3:30. Aaim To Prosper was a top staying horse on the flat and he could be very well handicapped over hurdles. His form is good and is sure to go close. Cue to Cue got close to Peddlers Cross at Musselburugh and he has not been penalised for that run. If that was a true running he is sure to feature again today. Lord Wishes could have more to show also as he is still relatively unexposed.
The final leg of the Scoop6 is the 3:50 race in Newbury. This is a wide open contest but David Pipe has a very interesting contender in the French recruit Garynella at the bottom of the weights. He looks well handicapped and David Pipe’s horses are in terrific form at the moment. The Knoxs is a horse that seems to be very well handicapped and could go very close if putting in a clear round. Pepite Rose has gone off form of late, but she has dropped a few pounds and could easily bounce back.
