Swnymor was so nearly the merrier at Chepstow on Saturday but, with the Grade 1 Finale Juvenile Hurdle at his mercy, he fell at the last flight of hurdles.
All the odds on the Cheltenham Triumph Hurdle are available on Boylesports.com
The fall, which horse and rider walked away from unscathed, allowed Ruacana to sneak home meaning the John Ferguson horse remains unbeaten over hurdles after his debut in Catterick, even if he was out of it before the fall.
The result hasn’t altered the bookies opinions of the horse though and Swnymor is unchanged at 16/1 with Boylesports for the Triumph Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March.
Ruacana, has been introduced at 20/1 by Boylesports for the same race while the staying-on runner-up Caid Du Berlais, is also 20/1 with Boylesports for Triumph success.
Leon Blanche, Head of Communications at Boylesports, said of the race: “Swnymor looked set for a good win when asked for a big jump at the last by Richard Johnson and they just met the flight wrong. Overall, though, it looked a good event and he remains very much in the Cheltenham picture.”
