Boylesports have reported support for the Willie Mullins trained Diakali ahead of Thursday’s Aintree Hurdle.
The five year old who was last seen finishing fourth to Lac Fontana in the County Hurdle at Cheltenham was installed at 14/1 on Tuesdayand has now nearly halved in price and is on offer at 8/1.
Currently The New One heads the betting at 1/3 but Diakali now has joint 2012 Champion Hurdle winner, Rock On Ruby as the 8/1 joint second favourites.
Ptit Zig is next in the betting at 12/1 whilst the Nicky Henderson trained Grandouet is priced at 14/1 with Paul Nicholls’ other representative Irish Saint on offer at 28/1 whilst the Alan King trained Grumeti is the outsider of the sextet at 40/1.
Liam Glynn, PR Executive at Boylesports said “We have been flooded with support for Diakali in the past 24 hours and have laid him from 14/1 down to his current price of 8/1.”
He added “The New One remains solid in the betting at 1/3 but certainly punters are taking him on having got behind Willie Mullins, Diakali in the past 24 hours. If the support continues in the same demand as what it has been in the past 24 hours we will have to harden Diakali even further.”
